Tarzan of the Apes and Other Jungle Stories
An icon of pop culture, inspiration for comics and countless films, Tarzan is Edgar Rice Burroughs’ most influential creation. When, in 1912, he brought to life the orphan abandoned to his own devices on the African coast, he had no idea that the influence of Tarzan’s adventures would extend over time in a variety of forms.
A fictional example of a wild child, followed by many others in literature, Tarzan’s success and popularity were also at the origin of the sword & sorcery genre.
This exhibition, which features illustrations by 24 national artists, is an invitation to visit this mythical imaginary and discover some of the most original and entertaining tales in literature.
